Corina Pia

Studio 9

We all possess this beautiful thing called innate intelligence. As an artist I am able to use this intelligence to create art, not relying on what I can see but on the energy that flows through me. The palette I work with is inspired by the colors of light and is also referred to as chakra colors. I believe as we integrate these colors in our homes and lives, we promote balance and well-being. My artwork is intended to delight and inspire the viewer. It is created especially to add vitality to its environment.

Artist Bio

Born in Rüsselsheim/Germany, Corina grew up surrounded by a family of German craftsmen. The use of a paintbrush as well as power tools started young. In her mid twenties Pia re-located to the USA. In addition to her extensive studies abroad, she studied with honors at the Art Institute of Atlanta, won fine art awards at the University of Kennesaw, and received a graphic arts certificate from the Atlanta College of Art.
In 1993/94 Pia was employed by sculptor Ayokunle Odeleye. Martin Dawe, Mustafah Dhada, Karen Beswick, and Debra Fritts are some of the other influences in her 3-dimensional work. As a painter she studied with professional artists such as Michael Venezia, Maggie Morales, Gail Wegodsky and Silja Lahtinen.
In 1995 Corina assisted at John Portman’s architectural model building studio, applying her sculptors expertise. In 1996 she added computer drafting to her skills, and for nearly five years a worldwide client base enjoyed her architectural illustrations.
Since 2000 Pia expresses exclusively through paintings, sculptures and digital art. In 2003, 2004 and 2006/07 Corina assisted in the Grand Chapiteau of Cirque Du Soleil. Like the Cirque artists she dreams to enrich the lives of all those who cross her path through the sharing of her delightful and inspiring artwork.
Pia’s vivid acrylic paintings are enchanting audiences in the United States and abroad. Her overall craftsmanship embodies a distinct European sophistication much appreciated by her collectors. Corina has exhibited in over fifty one-woman and group-shows to date. The artist is represented by Art Space International in Atlanta, GA and she is looking forward to expend her representation with a few select galleries worldwide.
